Energy screens

Bonar TF offers a choice of energy screens with high translucency: PH Super and Phormilux.

PH Super is a new-generation energy screen that offers an active moisture transport system through an acrylic thread network. The product, constructed from plastic strips and acrylic yarns, is extremely flexible. When not in use, it can be easily folded away into a small package.

Phormilux is an energy screen produced without acrylic yarn and as such offers low moisture transport properties. This results in higher humidity conditions below the Phormilux screens.

Energy/shading screens

Energy-saving and sun-shading in a single screen. Bonar Technical Fabrics offers a wide range of screens which combine these two characteristics superbly. Aluminium strips are coupled with transparent strips in the screen. Their proportions vary from fabric to fabric and determine the degree of screening and the energy-saving percentage.
These screens protect your produce in the summer against the most searing solar rays and guarantee substantial saving in heating costs.

The transparent PE-tapes diffuse the light and ensure a uniform light intensity.

Open shading screens

BTF also manufactures climate protection screens with an open woven structure. The voids between the aluminium tapes allow air to move freely through the screen, permitting creation of a much cooler glasshouse climate during very warm periods. A selection of different shading levels are available ex-stock.

Darkening screens

Darkening screens are used to initiate flowerbud formation in short-day flowers.The Phormium screens satisfy the grower's demanding requirements of high darkening capacity, great durability, long life and a small package all in one.

Agrotextiles - Screens

Screens are essential to modern horticulture because of their positive influence on the greenhouse climate and the high energy-savings generated from their use during cold nights.

In the early seventies, Bonar TF's pioneering work on the use of synthetic screening fabrics for professional plant cultivation under glass resulted in the development of the PH (Phormium) range of screens. Manufactured with a unique weaving process, the PH screens use extremely high-quality raw materials that offer unprecedented performance advantages with regard to durability and effectiveness.

Gable and rolling screens

The PHL-screens are protective screens for gable and inclined cover applications. An extra UV-resistant laminate is added to preclude deformation during operation and ensure excellent rolling characteristics.

Gable screens are available for both climate regulation and darkening. Gev-Al/white and PHL white both come with a reflective white film and are therefore suitable not only for darkening, but also for use with assimilation lighting. This guarantees even light distribution over all your produce and prevents any "neighbourhood hindrances". Gev-Al/White has an aluminium outer surface, PHL White a white outer surface.
