PhormiDrain system

The complete PhormiDrain system contains several products:

The well-draining groundcover PhormiSol 137 K is highly suitable for use on lava beds and other highly draining subsoils. This also applies to PhormiSol 200 GK, but this fabric is also highly resistant to intensive work traffic.

PhormiDrain is a drainage material in a 3D structure comprising polypropylene monofilament yarns.

In combination with a well draining groundcover, PhormiDrain guarantees a fast and effcient dewatering from the container field. This way the formation of pools and the development and spread of root deseases is reduced drastically. Moreover, the container field stays accesible the whole time.

Thank to its unique V-shape, PhormiDrain stays open even under high stress. As such the water drainage capacity stays guaranteed. PhormiDrain returns easily to its original shape due to its high resilience. PhormiDrain is also suitable for soft subsoils thanks to its stress dividing properties.

The unique fine and resilient structure withstands the shrinkage and expansion due to different weather conditions. This guarantees a dimensionally stable container field.

To guarantee a good spreading of the water over the complete container field, AquaFlux is installed between the well-draining groundcover and PhormiDrain. Two types of AquaFlux exist: AquaFlux and AquaFlux High Capacity. AquaFlux High Capacity is used when a higher absorption capacity is desired. AquaFlux consists of bicomponent fibers. The core material ensures the strength of the material, the outer material ensures the good water spreading properties.

In closed systems, PhormiDrain is installed on top of an impermeable foil. In open systems, PhormiDrain is installed on top of a filter, preventing the underlying ground to pollute the drainage system. 

Lava system

Instead of PhormiDrain, lava beds can also be used as a drainage material. Foil is put between the subsoil and the lava stones to create a closed system. To protect the foil against the sharp lava stones, LavaProtect is installed between the foil and the lava stones. LavaProtect is a nonwoven material which ensures a good puncture resistance. Depending on the intensity of work traffic, a choice can be made between LavaProtect Light, Medium, Strong and Extra Strong.
